Mission and Statement
OUR STORY & MISSION
The Century Plus Crew was founded in October of 2020. It started when a group of like-minded individuals wanted to push their limits and challenge themselves to do longer miles on their bikes. Many of us started this cycling journey at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time there were so many uncertainties. Many people turned to cycling for physical and mental freedom. With the first ride taking place from Brooklyn, NY to Montauk, NY the Century Plus Crew was birthed 130+ miles later. We had no intentions of creating a cycling crew, but after the communion and bonds that were made, everyone stayed connected.
The Century Plus Crew’s mission is to increase one’s quality of life through cycling. Any cyclist who has ever done 100+ miles before will tell you it is mostly mental to get through. Many people who are a part of the Century Plus Crew have their own separate reasons for embarking on this journey. But we all have a common interest of becoming better and reaching our highest potential.
Cycling for Community
We are more than just a cycling crew. Aside from cycling, we are committed to serving those in need through collaboration with organizations to assist in clothing giveaways, feeding the homeless, and serving some of the most vulnerable populations all over New York City.
Two Wheels One Crew
As the saying goes, four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul. We are dedicated to becoming overall better individuals and making this world a better place one century ride at a time.
Cycling Education
To change the narrative of cycling in underserved communities, we will provide free-of-cost workshops, on bike maintenance i.e tire changing, cleaning, and understanding bike parts. Century Plus Crew will also provide workshops on body conditioning, strength and healthy eating so that you can finish as strong as you start a 100 miler with us.
